You must have heard a number of times how Exercise is important for ‘good health’. But did you know that the right amount of exercise can help you enhance energy levels, uplift your mood and help you boost your self-esteem? Experts recommend that you should get at least 60 minutes of vigorous physical activity each day. But it is not always possible to exercise every day and sometimes a few days off can turn into extended periods of time.

Here are some benefits of regular physical activity that will keep you motivated.

Physical activity helps your body develop strength and flexibility which in-turn helps your body to function properly. without physical activity your body starts to slowly lose all the muscles, strength and stamina, this heavily impacts the immune system making you more vulnerable to sicknesses and diseases. Too much sitting and other sedentary activities can increase the risk of heart diseases and stroke.

Doing some physical activity is better than no activity at all. If you currently do no physical activity, start by doing some and gradually build up on the amount of activity. Be active on all days of the week. Practice exercising for at least 30 minutes each day and increase the time once you get comfortable with it. Practice muscle strengthening exercises at least two days a week.
